In the summer season, the Baltic Sea may discourage visitors with crowds of tourists, crowded beaches, noise, and higher prices. But who would think of going to the coast in winter? And yet, more and more tourists are choosing this direction precisely at this time of year :) In autumn or winter, the Baltic Sea is still an attractive holiday destination. Outside the high season, you can enjoy benefits that are hard to find during the summer months.

A seaside holiday at this time of year is a true escape from everyday life. The greatest advantage of a winter trip to the Baltic Sea is the peace and quiet that are so hard to find in summer. Walks along deserted beaches help you calm down, relax, and improve both your mental and physical health.

In autumn and winter, we often struggle with reduced immunity, and nothing boosts it better than inhaling iodine – which ensures proper thyroid function, improves circulation, positively affects physical and mental development, and strengthens the body’s overall immunity. In winter, its concentration in the air is the highest! It is during daily walks along the beach that we can provide our bodies with the right dose.

In addition to walking, the beach at this time is perfect for activities such as cycling, jogging, or Nordic walking. This is because the sand freezes and creates an ideal surface that does not give way underfoot. It is also the only time of year when you can comfortably push a stroller along the beach, making it an ideal solution for families with children.

Sand covered with white snow, the sea filled with ice floes of all sizes, waves crashing against the shore sprinkled with ice crystals, small icy bays forming here and there… Such views are impossible to find in summer… In addition, the air is filled with the scent of the forest, undisturbed by the smell of waffles or fried fish.

It is also the perfect time for late sleepers who never managed to get up at dawn to admire the sunrise over the sea. In winter, it’s enough to get up at eight o’clock :)

Winter is also the low season by the sea, which means apartments can be rented at very attractive prices! Hotel services, such as access to swimming pools, are also cheaper. Let’s also remember that by supporting local businesses in winter, we help raise their standard in summer.

Finally, remember to pack warm, outdoor clothing for your trip. Dressing in layers works best. When the wind picks up, it can get really cold, but when it’s calm and the sun is shining, it can feel pleasantly warm ;)
