Our Offer – Jastrzębia Góra
One of the most frequently visited seaside resorts is Jastrzębia Góra, which has been part of our offer for many years and enjoys great popularity.
Jastrzębia Góra is the northernmost town in Poland, featuring a cliff coastline reaching up to 33 meters above sea level. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views and places perfect for long walks. Part of the coastline belongs to the Coastal Landscape Park.
After World War I, the name Jastrzębia Góra began to be used, probably derived from Jastrzębska Góra (67.8 m above sea level) located a few kilometers east near Chłapowo, or from the hawks that once inhabited the local wastelands.
The town also has a Kashubian name – Pilëce (literally “a place for grazing geese”), as these areas used to be barren pastures for geese.
Holidays in Jastrzębia Góra may differ from typical beach vacations in other seaside resorts. Although there are bathing areas with sandy beaches for sunbathing and swimming, the town offers many additional attractions. Picturesque cliffs with stunning sunsets, diverse sandy and rocky coastline rich in vegetation, the 300-meter-long Lisi Jar gorge, and the northernmost point of Poland’s coastline marked by the Star of the North obelisk are just some of them.
Hiking and horse-riding trails running through Jastrzębia Góra are very popular, as well as the “upside-down house” on Światowid Promenade and the opportunity to watch paragliders using air currents formed near the cliffs.
The main attraction is undoubtedly the Rozewie Lighthouse, located at Cape Rozewie near the eastern border of the town – the oldest lighthouse on the Polish coast. Inside there is a small museum, and nearby visitors can walk through the nature reserve, visit the engine room, see the bust of Stefan Żeromski, and a monument commemorating the return of Pomerania to Poland in 1920.
Along the sunny promenade and in the town center you will find charming places to enjoy delicious meals. Besides fresh fish, it is worth trying Kashubian specialties such as fish soup, duck with cranberries, dumplings (kopytka), and pancakes made from bread dough.
For lovers of spending evenings with a glass of good alcohol, Dom Whisky (Whisky House) is highly recommended, offering many varieties of this amber drink and insight into its production process. For over 22 years, Cocktail Bar Max has also operated here, promoting cocktail culture based on a wide range of spirits.
